COMMENCEMENT - MAY 1997
The Chemistry Department congratulates the students who received degrees at the Department's 1997 Commencement Ceremony (part of Stony Brook's 36th such ceremonies),. which took place on May 16. A list of the individuals receiving degrees will be posted shortly.
The commencement address was presented by Dr. Patrick Crean.
Pat received a B.S. degree in Chemistry in 1961, a member of Stony Brook's (actually, Oyster Bay's) first graduating class. Pat went on to earn a Ph.D. from Purdue University, and spent his scientific career at the DuPont chemical laboratories in Delaware, from which, as he puts it, he is "now receiving a pension". He continues his scientific activities in the area of administrative software design.
