Application Procedures for Students with B.S. degrees from International Institutions
The application process is web-based. Apply on-line at https://app.applyyourself.com/?id=sunysb-gs.
As part of the application process you will need to provide:
1. Two sets of official transcripts of undergraduate and (if applicable) graduate course work.
2. Official Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores. Stony Brook’s code for score reporting is 2548.
3. If your native language is not English, then you must submit official Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) scores. A TOEFL of 90/250/600 or higher is required for consideration for financial support.
4. Three letters of recommendation. If they are not submitted online, please supply two original copies of each recommendation.
(5) A non-refundable application fee of $60 (You may qualify for the waiver by receiving a B.S. degree from an accredited U.S. college/university. A Master's Degree is NOT a qualification for the waiver)
Although we will consider an application file at any time and we do not have a deadline, it can be to your advantage to apply by February 1 if you wish to begin your studies in the fall. Support is provided through teaching and research assistantships and industrial, university and departmental fellowships. For the 2009-2010 academic year, the stipend is $24,000 a year (plus subsidized health insurance and a full tuition scholarship).
