Olaf's Mini Review of a 1960s Booklet.

The following mini review of a 1960s booklet has been submitted by Olaf (pigmans@win.tue.nl)

Many thanks are due to him.

The idea booklet is appr. 14x14 cm. It has 76 pages, but I suspect that the cover and maybe some more of the outer pages are missing. Therefore, no explicit implication of the year of publication is present. However, the grey tires, flat trees and HO scale cars-in-one-piece place it somewhere in the late sixties I guess.

Several scenes are depicted, with details shown in separate pictures. The scale varies from buildings with stories a mere two bricks high to regular brick people with a height of 15 bricks. Sometimes different scales are combined which gives hilarious effects.

Relatively large sections are devoted to trains (blue, non-electrified tracks) and constructions with motors.

Here are some representative pages.

Page 15: a bedouin (sp?) scene with large people and interesting buildings, palm trees and water pit.

Page 16: a city skyline with some skyscrapers and a lot of HO scale cars.

Page 18: a city street with nice buildings, trucks, sidewalks and a police officer.

Page 24: an airport scene with a _large_ airplane, kerosine truck, bus and passengers.

Page 27: a gasoline station with a closeup view of some HO scale cars. Who said LEGO had no specialized pieces back then?

Page 47: a wild west scene with a fortress, mountains, large cowboys and a small train.
