CHEMISTRY RESEARCH DAY - MARCH 8, 2002

By every measure, Chemistry Research Day - 2002 was an immense success.

• There were over 100 posters reflecting the broad range of research conducted by the department's faculty and students.
• The ceremony was initiated by a distinguished group of post-luncheon speakers including (from left to right):

  Nancy Goroff, Assistant Professor and Organizer of the Program Iwao Ojima, Distinguished Professor and Chair Shirley Strum Kenny, President Gail Habicht, Vice President for Research Robert Liebermann, Dean, College of Arts and Sciences Lawrence Martin, Dean of Graduate Studies

Presenters discussed their posters with enthusiatic attendees from the campus and regional research community

Prof. Clare Grey presented a timely and fascinating public lecture on the topic:

"Understanding how Batteries and Fuel Cells Work: NMR Studies of Disordered Materials".
